What Irks You More: Dirty Guestroom Floors or a Crack Whore in Your Bed?

dirty and destroyed hotel room

When I have the benefit in my travels of staying in a hotel, I am usually a pretty damn happy camper as I am used to sleeping on floors, woodland creatures, and various rock formations that look like a deformed golem.

Recently a group of janitorial supplies people got together and had an epiphany,

“Maybe we should poll people as to what pisses them off the most in a hotel so we can make sure to only clean the stuff that really matters!”

Brilliant, my dear Watson.

Out of 1,009 (couldn’t quite score the perfect OCD number it seems) adults, here is the list of casualties, that if noticed will cause a person to not rebook a hotel room.

  • 83% – Dirty floors in guest rooms,
  • 80% – Dirty lobby restrooms,
  • 70% – Dirty lobby floors and entryways,
  • 61% – Poor hotel staff appearance,
  • 51% – Dirty glass doors and windows,
  • 45% – Wet floors with no signage,
  • 5% – None of these

I love that a perfect loophole in this poll could be created by covering a bathroom floor in semen with not signage and having your hotel staff look like bigfoot or a prostitute strung out on methamphetamines would only cause about 50% of your guests to not rebook.

Clearly Best Western and Comfort Inn have their work cut out for them.

LOL you know I don’t think I’ve ever noticed a staff member’s appearance but I sure as hell notice a dirty room 😛 I once was given a room where there was a lipstick mark on the water glass. Apparently a lot of places never wash these, they only wipe them down. Ugh 🙁

@Lorraine

Clearly a party went down before you arrived and the bastards didn’t even invite you.
